We are passionate about helping civil society tap into the collaborative DNA of open source practice, both in the realm of software and beyond.
At a practical level, we have worked on many projects that promote the power of open source as a tool for civil society - software development, guidebooks, workshops, meetings.
We are also making the connection between social enterprise and open source, helping people who provide open source services to civil society with ideas on how to make a living. We are deeply interested in how the economy of free ideas can be sustainable.
All of this feeds into the bigger picture - open organizations, open politics, open economics. Moving towards this bigger picture, we are working to make connections between the free and open source software movement and more traditional social movements. |
